2. AchieveNJ for Teachers Nothing impacts student learning in schools more than teachers. All New Jersey students deserve great teachers, and all New Jersey teachers deserve meaningful opportunities for growth. In 2012, the Legislature unanimously passed a law requiring new teacher and principal evaluations to be implemented by the 2013–14 school year. AchieveNJ is designed to recognize those who excel, identify those who need additional support, and provide meaningful feedback and professional development to all teachers.

Student Growth Objectives-SGOs  Benchmark set by teacher & principal.  1 for Tested areas- Grades 6-8 because over 20 students  2 for Non-tested area- Grades K-5 because less than 20 pupils  2013-2014 SGOs need to be established and approved by Principal by Nov 15 th (subsequent years will be Oct 15 th )  Modifications can be made to SGOs by the teacher with Principal approval up to Feb 15 th (mid year review)  District Discretion, no NJDOE approval.
