Writing a news story BEFORE you sit down at the edit station...
LOG your tape -- make an EDL Identify good shots, including incue and outcue / time code WRITE a rough draft script (use samples from course outline) – single-column or 2-column approach Now you’re ready to start capturing clips Never capture long pieces—identify and capture clips (digital files differs)

FCP 7 – must set scratch discs Log in to your assigned station Create a folder with Your Name as the folder name Create a folder with YourLastName News Story folder Set FCP settings immediately
