6. Accreditations  1997: awarded a bachelor of medicine and surgery from the college of medicine King Saud university-(KSU).   1998-1999: employed as a demonstrator in the college of medicine- KSU in Riyadh.  And joined the department of internal medicine as a medical resident.

7.  2000; had a scholarship to university of western Ontario (UWO) in London Ontario, Canada to do internal medicine specialty.  2001-2003: medical resident in UWO In London Ontario in Canada.  2004: Awarded the Canadian board of internal medicine to become an internist

9.  2004-2006: cardiology fellow in UWO to do cardiology subspecialty.  2006; Awarded the Canadian cardiology board and became a cardiologist.  2006-2007: a clinical fellow in echocardiography in university of Ottawa (OHI) to do subspecialty of adult echocardiography.

10.  March 2008: Joined the department of cardiology at KKUH, KSU as a cardiology consultant  July 2008: offered a position of an assistant professor of internal medicine at King Saud University

17. What does it take?  Academia tolerates a tremendous diversity in life management, and research styles-There as many as many researcher styles as there are researchers-If you don’t believe me, look at the researchers in your own department-The are some common features among the successful ones

What does it take?  You can be a natural scholar and use your scholarly interest to lead you to the bench-You can be a natural experimentalist who and use your observations at the bench to lead you to become a scholar-Either way, in the end you need to become a good scholar and a bench scientist

What does it take (continued)?  There are common features for true success:  You must be curious  You must be willing to discuss, debate and argue (in a friendly way) with you colleagues and competitors  You must be good writer and a good presenter of ideas  You must have be driven  You must be able to handle adversity  Always have a good sense of humor about things  Celebrate successes whenever you have the chance
