2 Angels and Demons Why This Study?
It is a Bible topic We must avoid extremes: total disbelief (Ac. 23:8), or worship of angels and demons (Col. 2:18) We must understand how angels and demons affect our lives today – both are interested in us today (Lk. 15:7,10; Eph. 6:12)

3 Angels and Demons Their Origin
“Angel” whether the Heb. (malak) or the Gr. (angellos) means “messenger” Created by God (Neh. 9:6; Psa. 148:2-5; Jn. 1:3; Col. 1:15-17) The specific time of their creation is not indicated (Job 38:6-7)

“Demon” from the Gr. daimon means “knowing ones” Created as good angels by God (Gen. 1:31) Fell from their proper place (2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6) The time of their fall is not specified (Gen. 3:1; note Lk. 10:18; Rev.12:9; cf. Isa. 14:12 is not a ref. to Satan) Pride (1 Tim. 3:6) or rebellion (2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6) may have been the cause of their fall (compare 2 Pet. 2:11; Jude 9)

Do we have a guardian angel today? No. What about Mt. 18:10; Ac. 12:15 and Heb. 1:13-14? Demons Are people possessed with demons today? No. The following verses imply that demon possession ended sometime during the period of the Apostles (Zech. 13:1-2; Mk. 16:17,20; 1 Jn. 3:8; Rev. 20:1-3)

Angels and Christians Christians can set the right example for them (1 Cor. 4:9; 6:3; 11:10; 1 Tim. 5:21) Christians can follow their example of joy (Lk. 15:10) and service (Rev. 7:11; 22:8-9) The Devil, Demons and Christians Christians can avoid their example (2 Pet. 2:4) Christians can guard against their evil powers (Rom. 16:20; 2 Cor. 2:11; Eph. 4:27; 6:11ff; Jas. 4:7; 1 Pet. 5:8)
