Learning Objectives Students are able to give a 90-second speech about hobbies and construct a scrapbook that includes five students' speeches. Students are able to list all hobbies and tell hobbies. Students are able to generate the complete sentences using sentence patterns.

Theme: Hobbies Guided practice Bingo Objective: Students are able to list all hobbies and identify all hobbies. Bingo game: students will play vocabulary bingo game. (Listening/reading) Directions: 1.Students listen to hobbies phrases read by the teacher. You will hear each phrase three times. You find the specific hobby and mark it in your bingo sheet. 2.Say “Bingo” when you have five in the row, column or diagonal.

Theme: Hobbies Application Unit project: Mandarin Interactive Wax Museum Students are able to give a 90-second speech construct a scrapbook that includes five students' speeches. Two groups. Both groups will present on the same day. More details after break.

(reading) Directions: Chinese characters and the corresponding pinyin are written on opposite sides of each dotted line. Students cut dot through the dotted lines to make many small triangles. Students will work in pair. Each pair is given a set of the cut-out triangles. They reconstruct the figure by joining the corresponding Chinese characters and pinyin. The figure for this activity is a shape of tree. The person who finishes first wins.

Theme: Hobbies Guided practice: Application and use of sentence structures Scavenger hunt Objective: Students are able to discover their classmates' hobbies by scavenger hunt Directions Students move around and ask each other questions to gather information to complete the worksheet. Print the name in each box of the grid. Do not use a name more than 2 times in any vertical, horizontal or diagonal row. We will play a game after your scavenger hunt. Use sentence patterns. I will grade you based on the 100% complete sentence.
