Aims of Activity To introduce the idea of working with others, communication and creative problem solving. Gain an understanding of the skills needed to work with others whilst carrying out a task. Demonstrate an understanding of how to follow specific instructions accurately ----------------------------------------------

Responsibility Check list Time Manager : To ensure activity is completed within the allocated time scale by keeping the team informed of remaining time Resource supplier: To liaise with the Material Builders and ensure they are supplied with the necessary materials and resource necessary materials Bridge Builders: To ensure the construction of the bridge meets the planning requirements. To Liaise with Material Builders

Responsibility Check list Material Builder: To liaise with both the Resource Supplier and the Bridge Builders and construct the necessary building materials Resource Manager: To ensure that there are adequate materials for the construction of the bridge ------------------------------------------------------------

Responsibility Check list Team Leader: To oversee the whole project; ensuring appropriate and effective communication is used to share information. To keep the team on track in order to complete the task within the given timescales. Dimensions Manager: To liaise with the Material Builders and the Bridge Builders to ensure that the Bridge is constructed to the planned dimensions

(Building Bridges ) The bridge must be strong enough to hold a weight for ten seconds. The bridge must be tall enough and wide enough for the object to pass underneath it. The bridge must be free-standing; not attached to the wall, a piece of furniture, a person or an article of clothing...FREE-STANDING."

Process: Each team will have ??? Hours to Plan the design of your bridge Discuss and agree, who is going to do what Make sure everyone in the team is included and has a role. To construct their bridge. ----------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY Can only use materials provided. Object needs to pass under the bridge. Bridge needs to be strong enough to hold the weight for 10 seconds. Bridge to be FREE STANDING. (?) Hours to plan. (?) Hours to build.
