Oct 28, 2004IEEE Sensor Council Sensors Conference 2002 Loss of $59.9k – per Audited Budget Includes returning $30k Seed money to Sensors Council Conference “ lowlights ”. No signed PCM contract. PCM did not manage to budget or get approvals for expenses over budget (s.a. $83k actual vs. $23k budget for conf proceedings & tutorial printing therefore a $50k loss). Security hired without approval. Exhibit income much lower than expected ($40k income expected, $9k actual). Does not include the $69.3k profit returned to Council from proceeding sales in 2002 Does not include the $111.5k profit returned to Council from proceeding sales in 2003 OVERALL $120.9k Profit to date

Oct 28, 2004IEEE Sensor Council Sensors Conference 2003 pre-audit completion Loss of $43.6k – Submitted audit report Includes returning $30k Seed money to Sensors Council No signed PCM contract. Attendance VERY LOW. No reduction in promo items ordered based on attendance # ’ s. PCM did not ask for approvals for expenses. Hotel contract of rooms at high room rate causing attendees to select other housing. Contract included free exhibit hall. Does not include $29.1 payoff to hotel for attrition clause. No proceeding sales were expected to be received in 2003 (conf Oct 03) so none included. Overall $72.7k loss to date

Two bank accounts set up one US, one Austria. Only US did get seed money (in Oct). Multiple donations from Vienna University (meeting rooms etc) Food & Beverages provided at lower rate from University services Donation of city of ½ banquet costs No exposure to hotel attrition, room block or food & bev No proceeding sales to date

Requires VP conferences approval Requires conferences to be sponsored by non-profits * Unless approved by VP Conferences for only special circumstances
