Russia Leaves the War War becomes unpopular in Russia after 1 million+ lives are lost. Rationing leads to starvation 1917- protests spread through St. Petersburg and the Royal palace is taken over. Czar abdicates Provisional government takes control. Votes to stay in WW1 Provisional government unpopular after decision to stay in WWI
