Objective: Students will be able to apply their knowledge touch-up tools. Bellwork: Which retouching technique in Photoshop do you think you will use the most when editing a photo, and why?

 Many photos have a yellow or bluish tone.  This unwanted wash of color is called colorcast.  Correcting this imbalance, even if not very noticeable will make the picture brighter.

 Open the photo we were working on yesterday to enhance.  Zoom In or Out as needed so that you can see the picture.  From the Image menu, select Adjustments, then select Levels.  Click the title bar of the Level box and drag it to the side so that the picture is visible.

 You can automatically correct levels, but do it manually to gain control.  Click the Set Black Point tool. Click the part of the sweater that is black. ▪ You may need to click more than one point before you find the one that looks best  Click the Set Gray Point tool. Click the part of the striped shirt that is mid-gray.  Click the Set White Point tool. Click the part of the striped shirt that is white.  Click OK to accept changes, or Cancel to remove

 Now open a different photo (one from the Photoshop file or one of your own) and use at least THREE retouching techniques.  Trim edges using the Crop Tool  Correct red eye using the Red Eye Tool  Remove blemishes using the Spot Healing Brush Tool.  Remove skin imperfections using the Healing Brush Tool.  Enhance the color by adjusting the Levels.  You have 15 minutes to work on your photo.

 We are now going to create your 2 nd Scrapbook Page  Create a Letter Size Document with CMYK Color  Place a picture into the Document

 Resize, Rotate, and Move the Picture  Add a Layer Style to Your Picture  Select the Layer you would like to Edit  From the Layer menu select Layer Style and select Drop Shadow.  Set the Shadow Options

 From the Styles Pane, apply another layer style by clicking inside a checkbox, and set the options for that Layer.

 Select the top layer in the Layers Panel  Select either the Horizontal or Vertical Type Tool.  Click anywhere in the picture, and type words to describe the picture.  In the Options bar edit the font, size, alignment, color, and shape of the words.  From the Layers menu, select Layer Style. Select a Layer Style and set options.

 From the File menu, select Save As  Locate the folder you created for your scrapbook pages, double click the folder to open it.  Type Last Name First Initial Page 2 in the File Name box.  Select Photoshop in the Format box.  Click Save  If a Photoshop Format Options box appears, place a checkmark in Maximize Compatibility, and then click OK.

 With the remaining time complete the Review Worksheet about Photoshop Touchups.
