3 201000OCT09 A peacekeeper training program managed by the U.S. Department of State as the Executive Agency in collaboration with the Office of the Secretary of Defense. The purpose of the ACOTA program is to enhance the capacity of selected African nations to professionally support, participate in, and conduct international Peace Support Operations, primarily in Africa. ACOTA

4 201000OCT09 Train and equip African peacekeepers and leaders. Assist Partner Nations in developing and maintaining peacekeeping training capacities and infrastructures. Sustain the capacity of African partner nations to eventually train, equip, and deploy peacekeepers with minimal non-African assistance. ACOTA

5 201000OCT09 Train individual soldiers, squads, platoons, companies, battalions, brigades and battle groups in PSO. Train and exercise PSO unit commanders and staffs. Conduct multinational training for PSO force commanders and their staffs (to include African regional and sub-regional organizations). Train specialized PSO units (e.g. medical, communications, maritime, reconnaissance, engineer units, logistics, etc). Equip peacekeeper trainees and instructors (limited) Train PSO indigenous instructors and enhance Peace Mission Training Center facilities in the Troop Contributing Countries. ACOTA
