GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 24, 2003 5B Tracker Peer Review, WBS 4.1.4 3 PWB & Pitch Adapter & Bias Final prototypes were recently produced and are being tested: –PWB: loaded with parts and new ASICs for functional testing –Pitch Adapter: Teledyne is bonding 3 of them to MCMs to check that the new design works –Bias: sent to Italy for review PWB: –Design files and specification sent to Young Electronics (L.A.) for quotation –Needs to include raised edge and precision machining of radius –Procurement spec: LAT-DS-01448 Pitch adapter and Bias Circuit: –Local Santa Clara vendor (Tycho) –Procurement spec: LAT-PS-01132 –Pitch adapter is single layer, no vias, very simple, but with Ni/Au plating

4. GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 24, 2003 5B Tracker Peer Review, WBS 4.1.4 4 Flex Circuit Readout Cables Procurement spec: LAT-PS-01132, includes specification of qualification and acceptance testing. Full-size prototypes manufactured by Parlex for the EM are being put through the specified test regime. Planning a visit to Parlex in early April. Short versions for the EM mini-tower were made at a local vendor (Tycho) and are being used in the electronics testing. The designs for the flight versions are being updated and verified in preparation for the procurement.
