1 State Of Idaho Juvenile Justice Commission District 2 Juvenile Justice Council 2014 Strategic Plan Strategic Areas, Goals, and Objectives October 29-30, 2014 Lewiston, Idaho

2 Reintegration Prevention and Collaboration Each District will gather information regarding successful and unsuccessful reintegration efforts, including treatment successes and those that incorporate positive youth outcomes, to send to key stakeholders (from statewide reintegration plan) The State of Idaho should keep mental health juveniles out of the state correctional system District 2 JJC shall provide training on Dual Diagnosis Mental Health Provide at least annual training on drug trends District 2 JJC shall provide training on Traumatic Brain Injury District 2 shall research and identify evidence-based interventions for at-risk families District 2 shall research and identify evidence- based status offender programs Increase availability of Behavioral Health Services (Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Dual Diagnostic, etc.) in under-served communities in District 2 Training regarding trauma should be a collaborative effort among all resources within the community

4 Strategic Area: Mental Health Goal 1: District 2 stakeholders will be provided training opportunities to support the needs of at risk youth in our communities Objective A: District 2 JJC shall provide training on Dual Diagnosis Objective B: District 2 JJC shall provide training on Traumatic Brain Injury Goal 2: Behavioral Health Services are made available to under-served communities in District 2 Objective A: Increase availability of Behavioral Health Services (Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Dual Diagnostic, etc.) in under-served communities in District 2 Recommendation 1: The State of Idaho should keep mental health juveniles out of the state correctional system Recommendation 2: Training regarding trauma should be a collaborative effort among all resources within the community

6 Statewide Reintegration Goal (from the Statewide Reintegration Committee) Goal: Each District has a comprehensive understanding of statewide reintegration practices Objective A: Each District will gather information regarding successful and unsuccessful reintegration efforts, including treatment successes and those that incorporate positive youth outcomes, to send to key stakeholders
