2 S. Lee/M.Kim 2010 info@asa-vision.com Study Design  Add requirement (mean): +2.20D ± 0.51D ( Near Vision < Nieden 4 )  Prospective multi-center clinical trial. 3 sites (between 08/2008 and 03/2010)  Total of 360 eyes of 180 consecutive patients: Age (mean): 58.68 ± 5.81 years  Follow up after 1, 6, 12 and 24 months  AcrySof ReSTOR: n = 120 (eyes) with bilateral implantation of ReSTOR multifocal IOL (Alcon)  CustomVue Monovision Lasik: n = 120 (eyes) treated with the VISX STAR S4 Excimer Laser and the Femtosecond Intralaser FS60.  ASA80  : n = 120 (eyes) Wavefront Guided Advanced Surface Ablation with the MEL80 Spotscanning platform (Carl Zeiss Meditec)

3 S. Lee/M.Kim 2010 info@asa-vision.com  Statistical Analyses SPSS v.15.0  All tests used were nonparametric, based on Kolmogorov- Smirnov-Test:  no parametric t-test for significance; instead: Wilcoxon, Mann-Whitney-U, Kruskal-Wallis-Test.(p< 0.05)  Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA80 ® / ASA-Lasek ® )  MEL80 Ablation Profiles: –TSA – (Tissue Saving Ablation) Type Munnerlyn-profile with k- value compensation –ASA – (Aberration Smart Ablation) Type TSA plus aspheric component = SAP: Standard Ablation Profiles –NAP: New-individual-Aspheric-ablation-Profiles ASA + Z(4,0) ▬ Addition of negative spherical aberration ▬

12 S. Lee/M.Kim 2010 info@asa-vision.com Summary  Acyrsof Restor IOL Implantation shows the best results regarding combined Far and Near Vision, thus leaving the patient postoperatively with a reduced intermediate Vision and reduced values for glare vision and mesopic contrast sensitivity.  Customvue Monovision shows statistically significantly disadvantages of the clinical outcomes, especially regarding binocular visual acuity for Far and Near Vision. Respectively, after 6 months results improve, probably due to the learning curve, to use the eyes separately: one for Far and one for Near. (ASA80®ASA-Lasek®)  Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA80®/ASA-Lasek®) : adequate combined Far and Near and IntermediateVision, additionally with a statistically significantly increase in Contrast Sensitivity und daylight and mesopic conditions. Conclusion Restor IOL´s and ASA80 are promising approaches for the treatment of presbyopia in patients with and without a cataract.
