Getting Started Accessible from any computer world-wide with Internet access Software company recommends using Internet Explorer to access site Web address: http://potomac.ms.groupfusion.nethttp://potomac.ms.groupfusion.net

Log In On left, scroll down until LOGIN appears (under calendar) Username is your Novell login ID NOTE: Your login name should be ALL CAPS Password is the same as your login name (you will change this later)

Main Classroom Screen After successful login, you will see “you have been logged in” dialog box at upper left of screen This screen is what students and parents see when they log in. All of the classrooms available to the user (you, in this case) are accessed from this screen. Try the pull-down menus here!

Your Classroom-Main Screen Scroll down on left tool bar Your individual classrooms appear under section “My Classrooms” and are highlighted in blue Click on any of your classrooms to get started

First things first…. Changing your Settings On upper right-hand side of the main classroom screen, click on red “Update class configuration” (under the ? Help sign)

Class Configuration Screen The sections available here are: General Information Class Membership Miscellaneous Options Class Settings Copy Class Website You will change all of your administrative items in this screen, such as: personal information class members home page titles Sounds and backgrounds

What to change in the General Information Section General Information Your name and course name, in what color your assignments will appear, and web address for the specific class you are updating Privacy Anyone on the Internet can view your page, or only the people signed in (students, parents, faculty, admin.)

Class Membership Section Manage your class lists, email options, and decide who will have access to special features (like online quizzes) of the class Class members are students Parents can join as parents—can’t take quizzes

Miscellaneous Options Section In this section you can : Access help site Change background Add songs/sounds Create different sections for each class

Class Settings Click on the pencil to turn on/off settings All settings should be changed to “on”. Three optional settings can be left in the “off” setting if you do not want to show them on your class page: Message board Class web pages Online quizzes

Copy Class Webpage Import data from another School Fusion site Follow instructions on screen if you already have another School Fusion site that you want to use (from previous school) on Potomac MS site

Complete the Update After changing, reviewing, revising information on the Update configuration screen: Click on “Back to Class Home” (in blue at upper right of screen) This will take you back to your class’s home page

Required Information -Potomac Middle School Fusion Classes Picture or background Course description (from the PWCPS course catalog) and TEAM name Introduction/biography of instructor (class files page) Instructor’s contact info (email & phone-contact page) Major assignments (on calendar) Links: Syllabus Instructional calendar (outline) Online textbooks and workbooks

Required Information – Picture & Course Description Add picture at the top of the class page Course Description should include course title and PWCPS Course Catalog description

Required Information – Instructor Bio. and Contact Info. Introduction/biography of instructor Create document in Microsoft Word Add as a link in the Class Links section Instructor’s contact info (email & phone) Create in the Class Contacts section

Required Information CALENDAR FUNCTIONS On main calendar screen: Click “View enlarged calendar Select date to add item Click “add event” Type your info! (when finished, click “add event”)

Class Links Use this section to add: Online textbooks Online workbooks Grammar/function websites Any homework help/dictionary or review sites

Class Announcements Use “add announcement” button for: Upcoming project reminders Quizzes, tests Changes In schedules or due dates

Class Homework Section Add homework assignments here Can add as much detail as desired Add (link) file (i.e. scanned homework page for completion, etc.) in “Class Files” section

Class Files Section Two options: Add File Needs to be created in another program, then uploaded here Add Folder Can add files here like a filing cabinet
