Classification of Managerial Function Henri Fayol gave for the first time a clear functional definition of management. According to him, “To manage is to forecast and plan, to organize, to command, to coordinate and to control.” Fayol has given the following five functions of management :- 1)Forecasting and planning 2)Organising 3)Commanding 4)Coordination 5)Control Ralph Davis classified managerial functions into three categories :- 1)Planning 2)Organising 3)Control He gave the view that command and coordination facilitate control.
