7. + DO NOW – Glossary: Needs and Constraints Needs = requirements Needs are the things that are required in a design – what the product needs to do (purpose), what needs to be included etc. Constraints = limitations or boundries A client may have financial restrictions or production facilities may be limited. Constraints may include cost, time, location, restrictions in colour and so on.
