What do you know about sisters, brothers, and priests who belong to religious communities? Those living the “religious life” totally surrender their lives to please God. They live totally for the kingdom— centering their lives solely on God.

What is a “vow”? A deliberate and free promise made to God by people who want especially to dedicate their lives to God. What vows do religious usually make? Poverty Chastity Obedience

How does living these vows help religious to serve others? Chastity Allows religious to love God with undivided hearts and to tend to the needs of all people Poverty Permits them to live simply and to share their talents. Obedience By being at God’s disposal and by obeying authority as to how and where to work, the members of a religious community combine their talents to serve God and others to the fullest
