Analyze the significance of people and events in Georgia on the Revolutionary War; include Loyalists, patriots, Elijah Clarke, Austin Dabney, Nancy Hart, Button Gwinnett, Lyman Hall, George Walton, Battle of Kettle Creek, and siege of Savannah.

Taxation Without Representation In 1767 – Townshend Revenue Act – taxes on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea In 1773 – Tea Act – to help the British East India Company December 16, 1773 – Boston Tea Party – colonists dressed as Native Americans dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the water

Intolerable Acts Were meant to punish the colonies 1. closed Boston Harbor 2. cancelled Massachusetts’s royal charter 3. Allowed British officials charged with offenses in the colonies to be tried in England 4. allowed British troops to live in colonists’ homes 5. Colonists formed the First Continental Congress
