2. God Hears the Righteous God doesn’t listen to sinners (John 9:24-33) God said, “I will not listen” (Isa. 1:4, 11-15) Sin hinders our prayers (Isa. 59:1-2; Ps. 66:18) God hears the righteous – Prov. 15:8, 29 – I Peter 3:12 (from Psalm 34:15-16) – Righteous prayers are powerful (James 5:16)

3. Pray With Reverence You’re talking to the Creator and Judge “Hallowed be Your name” (Matt. 6:9-13) Paul bowed his knees in prayer (Eph. 3:14) Praise often accompanies requests

4. Ask According to His Will “Your will be done” (Matt. 6:10) Know God’s will (Eph. 5:17; Rom. 12:2) Jesus’ example of submission (Luke 22:42) God’s will in prayer (I John 5:14-15)

5. Don’t Ask Amiss For earthly pleasures (James 4:1-4) Focus on spiritual things God will not answer worldly prayers

6. Ask With Confidence No doubting (James 1:5-8) – Build your faith (Solomon, Elijah, etc) “Nothing is too hard for You” (Jer. 32:16-25) God does as He pleases (Ps. 115:1-3) He is able! (Eph. 3:20-21)

7. Pray Often Give your requests to God (Philip. 4:4-7) Constant in prayer (Rom. 12:12; I Thess. 5:17)
