Site Tree Selection Procedure One site tree can be used for multiple conditions that have the same site productivity Only required to have one site tree per condition Ideally site trees should be at least 20 years old and off the subplot Record site tree age at diameter, do not add years to the core OPTIONAL: Record subplot number, tree number, azimuth, and distance

Site Tree Number Pre-printed on the tally sheets and in the data recorder program Record on the draw page when collecting azimuth and distance to site tree

Condition Class List List all the Condition Class Numbers that the site tree represents

Species Record the appropriate tree species code Any tree can be collected as a site tree

Diameter Record the diameter of the site tree using the same protocols in Section 5.0

Site Tree Length Record the length of the site tree using the same protocols in Section 5.0

Tree Age at Diameter Bore the tree at diameter and record the age at that point Do not add years to get the total age Ideally, bore trees that are at least 20 years old Can bore trees that are 15 years old

Site Tree Notes Record notes pertaining to an individual site tree

Optional Items Azimuth Horizontal Distance Record these items on the draw page when a site tree is close to or on a subplot Tree Number Subplot Number
