Aligning files Allows you to convert your existing translated documents into a TM Suitable only for truly parallel files! TM can be edited and validated after alignment (but not re-aligned)

Editing a TM Manual editing: Select a translation unit and edit. To mark for deletion: Ctrl + D Before changes take effect: Commit changes!

Exercise I 1. Download and unzip the materials for your language pair. 2. In Studio 2014 switch to TM view. 3. Create a new TM for your language pair called "vitotrol_XX_YY". In the Fields and Settings dialog add a text field for "Client". 4. Align the.txt files provided. 5. Check and validate the first 50 alignments.

Exercise II We can now use the newly created TM to translate a similar file. 1. From the Welcome screen select "Translate single document" and choose the.docx file provided (vitotrol_300...). 2. Select the newly created TM for your translation. 3. Translate the file, save and preview in Word. NOTE: Aligned TMs are not perfect. If no match is found, try the concordance search (F3).
