2 Copyright permission is the process of getting consent from a copyright owner to use the owner’s creative material; permission is often called “licensing”; this means you have a license to use the work.

7  Applies to use, without permission, of parts of copy- written works in multimedia projects created by educators or students with proper credit/citation  Educators include faculty, teachers, instructors and others who engage in scholarly, research and instructional activities for educational institutions.  The copyrighted works used under these guidelines are lawfully acquired if obtained by the institution or individual through lawful means such as purchase, gift or license agreement but not pirated copies.

9  Infringer pays the actual amount of damages and profits.  The range from $200 to $150,000 for each work infringed.  Infringer pays all attorneys fees and court costs.  The Court can restrict or stop the infringing acts.  The Court can confiscate the illegal works.  The infringer can go to jail.
