Beavercreek High School BYOD Student Training: Wi-Fi Login and Authentication Portal
2
Wi-Fi Login After completing the orientation session, students will have access to the BYOD Wi-Fi network. Locate the BYOD network in your settings under Wi-Fi or by clicking on the W-Fi symbol (if available on your device type).
3
Students will use their BCSD username and password to log in to the network. Be aware: The network records username, password and the unique identifier of your device at login. Wi-Fi Login
4
The user should now have access to the Wi-Fi network. Wi-Fi Login If your device will not allow you to log in to the network during your orientation session, please alert your teacher. Additional troubleshooting tips will be posted on the BHS website as they become available.
5
Authentication Portal Student access to electronic resources while using the BYOD Wi-Fi network is governed by several network filters. Students are placed in the most restrictive web filter group by default To allow your device to function in the normal student filter group, you must authenticate the device by using the authentication portal
6
Authentication Portal Students can access the portal by typing the address below in their web browser URL field portal.beavercreek.k12.oh.us Or, the portal will automatically pop- up when attempting to view filter- restricted content.
7
Authentication Portal Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields and click the Log In button. This does not provide students with unfiltered web access. It only moves them into the normal student permissions group.
8
Authentication Portal If you encounter certificate security warnings while using the BYOD network, you may need to install the SSL certificate on your device. Clicking on the authentication portal link provides users with installation instructions.
