2 SPONSORING ORGANIZATION An entity with two or more affiliated sites Responsible for overseeing the food program at sites Additional CACFP requirements in GM5

3 Monitoring Pre-Operational Visits Monitoring Reviews Completed by Monitors –Recommended they do not work at the site being reviewed –Preferably the same person monitoring all sites –Monitoring staff must receive training on CACFP requirements annually 3

4 Pre-Operational Visits New sites Sites that move to a new location Sites that close for more than one month Complete before starting the CACFP

7 Review Requirements First review must occur within the first 4 weeks of operation No more than 6 months between reviews 2 of 3 reviews must be unannounced (1 must include observing a meal service) Timing must vary so reviews are unpredictable to sites
