From Long Island or New Jersey, take the Long Island Railroad or NJ Transit to Penn Station, located just 2 blocks away. From Westchester and further points north, take the Metro North to Grand Central, and then the Shuttle to Times Square. From TImes Square, take the 1,2, or 3 to Penn Station and walk two blocks east to the Empire State Building.
