Flagrant (adjective)Extremely or deliberately noticeable; glaring.
Example: Residents of Squirrel Falls believed that the mayor’s actions represented flagrant abuse of his power.

flaunt (Trans Verb) To show of in order to impress others; display boastfully Example: When she returned to her hometown, the movie star flaunted her wealth, arriving in a limousine and wearing diamond bracelets.

Furtive (adjective) Done quickly and with stealth; sly.
Example: The cat appeared to give a furtive look behind her before leaping onto the kitchen counter.

Latent (adjective) Present or capable of coming into existence but not evident, active, or visible. Example: Jeremy’s latent creativity was discovered when he took an aptitude test.

Ostensible (adjective) Represented or appearing a certain way, but often not actually so; seeming; professed. Example: The ostensible purpose of Mrs. Little’s trip is business, but she plans to spend much of her time at Disneyland.

Salient (adjective) a. Standing out and attracting attention; noticeable; prominent b. Projecting or jutting beyond a line or surface; protruding up or out Example: Katherine and Time explained the salient features of their plan.

SEquester (Transitive Verb) To remove or withdraw from public view; seclude; set apart. Example: Mr. Ludlum sequestered himself for almost a year so that he could finish writing his book on Michelangelo.

Subterfuge (Noun) a. Deception by any means of a strategy or device. b. A deceptive strategy or device. Example: Elaine occasionally uses subterfuge to get her own way.

Surreptitious (adjective)Done or acting in secret; sneaky.
Example: As his uncle continued to lecture him, Nathan cast a surreptitious glance at his watch.

Unobtrusive (adjective)
a. Not readily noticeable; inconspicuous. b. Not aggressive; discreet. Example: Although unobtrusive in the classroom, Carole was usually the center of attention at home.
