4. A pronoun should agree in gender (male or female)with its antecedent.

5. Anthony said he had done his homework. Morgen took her watch to the jewelry store.

6. A pronoun should agree with its antecedent in number.

7. Dogs are dangerous if they bite. Students need to turn in their papers.

8. When two or more antecedents are joined by or or nor, the pronoun is singular.

9. Mike or Cody threw down his jacket.

10. When two or more antecedents are joined by and, the pronoun is plural.

11. Mr. and Mrs. Smith made up their minds.

12. Mr. or Mrs. Smith made up his/her mind.

26. Remember to use the list of indefinite pronouns to know which ones are singular or plural.
