5 Sleep – Sleep gives your body rest and allows it to prepare for the next day. The body grows and repairs itself during sleep. Stress - The feeling that you get when you are worrying about a big test or when your parents are arguing. Stress Management - The way you balance your lifestyle, such as getting enough sleep, exercise, food and doing something fun! Progressive muscle relaxation-A technique to help relax a person and their muscles. Physical activity - Jogging, walking, tag or sports games, push-ups, curl-ups, jumping rope, riding bikes, etc. Stretching - Cobra/abdominal stretch, quadriceps stretch, hamstring stretch, triceps stretch, deltoid stretch, gluteus maximus stretch, etc. Negative effects - An unpleasant or harmful change that is a result of an action. Rest and Sleep are important All people need some rest and sleep. The body grows and repairs itself during sleep. Nine to eleven hours of sleep every night is what people need. When you do not get enough sleep… Sleep is important to good health. Sleep well. Stay healthy! 9 You may be sleepy during the day. You may be grumpy to those around you. 12 Stress can have a negative effect on the body. Lack of sleep is a major reason for stress. Stress from lack of sleep affects performance.
