Johannes Brahms was born May 7, 1833, in Hamburg, Germany. Brahms was born into a Lutheran Family. Brahms was known as a great piano player and composer; He had his first solo pianist performance in 1848. Johannes spent most of his career in Vienna, Austria. Brahms died April 3, 1897, in Vienna. Johannes Brahms met violinist Eduard Reményi, who later influenced many of Brahm’s pieces. One of Brahm’s most famous pieces is: Brahm’s Lullaby. Brahm’s lullaby can be heard in lots of children’s movies, and is used to help babies go to sleep. Brahm’s lullaby

Johannes parents were Johann Jakob and Christina Nissen Brahms. Johanne’s father, Johann, was an innkeeper and a musician of moderate ability, and also taught Brahms to play violin and piano. Johannes had two siblings, Friedrich Brahms and Elise Brahms.

Brahms was known as the master of symphonic and sonata style in the second half of the 19 th century. Brahms was one of the “Three B’s” of great composers (Beethoven, Bach, and Brahms). Brahm’s was never married, but he attempted to marry Clara Schumann. Brahm’s was known to fall in love easily. He had once denied piano lessons for a woman because of his attraction to her. Brahm’s died from complications of cancer.
