Feldman is best known for whole collections of images rather than single images. He concentrates on making very precise and carefully constructed photographs. He also collects photographs to help him with his art.

Feldman’s most powerful work was a 2008 collection at the International Center of Photography of 100 newspaper front pages from around the world from September 12, 2001. The headlines were framed and filled a room. Another of Feldmanns well-known work is single image a “One dollar bill with a red nose” (2012) of a clown nose drawn on an American dollar bill.

Hans-Peter Feldmann has spent over four decades conducting a profound investigation into the influence of the visual environment on our subjective reality. Composing images and objects into serial archives, uncanny combinations, and other illuminating new contexts, his work unearths the latent associations and sentiments contained within the landscape of daily life. As the winner of the 2010 HUGO BOSS PRIZE, a biennial award recognizing significant achievement in contemporary art, Feldmann received an award of $100,000. For his solo exhibition at the Guggenheim, he has chosen to pin this exact amount to the gallery walls in a grid of overlapping one-dollar bills.

Feldmann has had 30 solo exhibitions in Europe, Canada and America including : 2010 - An Art Exhibition, Centre National art museum Reina Sofía MNCARS, Madrid, Spain 2001 - Hans-Peter Feldmann, 100 Jahre, Museum Folkwang Essen Germany View of Hans-Peter Feldmann's An Art Exhibition in Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid 100 jahre Museum folkwang
