SWOT ANALYSIS (PETROL STATION)
INTRODUCTION A petrol station is a facility that sells fuel and engine lubrication, offers mini marts and equipped with service station for wheel balancing, lubrications and alignment

STRENGTH Many automobiles on campus
Erratic power supply to the University and its environs calls for the use of diesel Many Engineers and experts on campus as consultants Large acreage of land Linkage with major marketers like NNPC on partnership terms The University is on a busy highway strategic to motivate customers Sources of Tax and VAT to the state government Stress reduction among students Added of aesthetic value EKSU

WEAKNESS Needs for leakage test on tanks. The location not strategic. Current state of the station is unattractive No functional generating plant Outdated dispensing pumping machines Irregular supply of petroleum products to the station

OPPORTUNITY A good Industrial site training site for students. Provision of employment opportunities To stimulate and sustain the administration interest Encouragement of staff punctuality and stability at work

THREAT Possible embezzlement of fund generated Fire accident Competiveness from existing stations Fund and funding challenges Attraction of miscreant to campus Non residential nature of the University

RECOMMENDATIONS A new site near the second gate, adjacent to the high way is recommended for a standard EKSU Petrol Station The station should be lease out to a reputable petrol major marketer like NNPC or NIPCO The existing petrol station should be converted to diesel dump site, as reservoir, for the University. A feasibility study should be conducted on the petrol station soonest.
