Make sure you cover tables Place a piece of paper @ each chair Give each table a basket of colored markers and black or colored sharpies Set out blue colored pencils for the students to color the background Make sure students have a pencil Docent Setup List: Docent Clean up List: Put away all materials. Today’s Lesson Today you are going to use markers to make patterns and designs and finish with blue colored pencils to create your own drawing of a rainforest. Skill Development: Art@Booksin Review pattern and designs with students Give students more practice drawing things from their imagination.

What is a rainforest? Rainforests are very dense, warm, wet forests. They are havens for millions of plants and animals. Rainforests are extremely important in the ecology of the Earth. The plants of the rainforest generate much of the Earth's oxygen.

Let’s get started.. Supplies Needed: Paper Pencil Black or Colored Sharpie Colored markers Shades of blue colored pencils for background Art@Booksin

1.Write your name on the back of the paper 1.Use your pencil to draw your rainforest and patterns. 1.After you have drawn your rainforest trace your pencil lines with a black or colored sharpie 1.Use the colored markers to color in all of the designs and patterns in your drawing 1.When your drawing is colored in use the blue colored pencil to color the entire background Art@Booksin
