18 Class Discussion Who is Monsieur Bibot, and what do we find out about him? Remember that stories are built around characters that the author keeps us interested in by telling us what the characters are like through the character’s actions, thoughts, and speech.

19 Student Writing Handbooks Turn to page 13 in your handbooks. Remember not to write in these books. Read through this excerpt from The Sweetest Fig noticing words that describe Monsieur Bibot. Did you come up with these? –Selfish –Only cares about money –Likes to cause people pain –Not very compassionate

We need to add, “Revealing characters personalities through actions, thoughts, and speech” to the “Notes About Fiction” chart
