Purpose of course Theme is leadership. OB is about people and the behavior of people in organizations. Leadership is changing. Moving away from the military model.

Learning goals Knowledge of different Leadership styles. Knowledge of different required skills and abilities for different leadership styles to create organizational change (communication, motivation, rewards, job design, etc). Development of preferred leadership style.

Ultimately What is YOUR leadership style. How will you create change in organization and lead others to make those changes.

Content An effective leader needs to understand Groups What makes individuals tick—see subordinates as individuals with strengths and weaknesses. Effective interpersonal skills— communication, motivation, conflict management

Grading Two mid term exams One final exam. Content is creating change. Class participation (20% of the grade).
