Function of a Work Group Study an issue Formulate a plan or recommendations Report back to the full committee Must be approved by NAR’s VPs and President prior to establishment

The Premier Partnership: Members & Staff Pre-meet with Staff Executive and Committee Liaison –Review agenda –Organize reports/actions –Review background on relating issues Rely on Staff to provide resources and background Refer to Committee Liaison for advice and clarification

Committee Authority Any action by a committee is subject to approval of the Board of Directors A formal recommendation is necessary when a new, or a change to: –A member program, product, or service –Governing policies of the Association –Public policy positions of the Association –Committee structure of the Association

2017 NAR Committee Appointment Process Members must apply to serve on a committee; recommendations cannot be submitted for someone else. Members may submit applications for up to 5 committees. Members can obtain up to 5 endorsements from other leaders. A member must have an expertise profile in GMS prior to submitting an application to serve on a committee.

2017 NAR Committee Appointment Timeline March 1, 2016: Appointment process opens May 23, 2016: Application website closes June 6, 2016: State Associations review & ranking period closes October 14, 2016: Committee appointment letters are emailed to members

2017 NAR Committee Appointment Process Some committees, particularly high profile committees, may be excluded from the state review period for preliminary appointments. Appointment letters for REALTOR ® Party committees will be sent a couple of weeks before the letters for all other appointments.
