ANSWER Perspective: is the way a character or narrator views a certain choice, decision, etc. Point of View: is the way the story is written ^First, second, third limited, third omniscient.

First Person Definition: A character within a story recounts/retells his or her own experiences. Examples/Key Words *The reader knows only what the character knows. *Uses I, me, my, we mine, ours

Second Person Definition The story is from the point of view of “you.” Examples/ Key Words *Uncommon form *Used mainly with instruction manuals, recipes, etc. *Uses you, yours

Third Person Limited Definition The narrator tells the story from the viewpoint of one character in the story. Examples/ Key Words *The reader knows what one character thinks, sees, knows, hears, and feels. * Uses he, she, it, they

Third Person Omniscient Definition The narrator has unlimited knowledge & can describe every character’s thoughts and feelings. Examples/ Key Words *The reader knows all information about the characters. *Uses he, she, it, they
