Dear Reader Letter  Proper business letter format  Include: Introduce the reader to your portfolio What you have learned this semester Your strengths/weaknesses What you want to improve Portfolio highlights Semester highlights End with what grade you deserve and why and thank the reader This should be two pages long. 6. Reading Section  There are three parts Vocabulary Challenging Reading Informational Materials

7. Vocabulary Purpose: Need 1 entry (3 maximum)  Word Webs with sentences  Flashcards  Use 10-20 challenging words in a paragraph paragraph  Shakespearean translations

Reading Comprehension Purpose: Need 2 entries (6 maximum): ○ Reading Logs (6) ○ Analysis handouts (2) ○ Responses to Shakespeare ○ Analysis paragraphs (irony, conflict, personality, figurative language, writing style) ○ Essay outlines ○ Quickwrites that reference the text (2). ○ SSR projects (2-3 from same book)

9. Informational Materials  Purpose:  Need 1 entry (2 maximum) Recipe and log. Log is 1 page minimum, preferably with pictures. Instruction manual and log. Independent research from a class and the final project (ex: bio research from a website and lab report). No DMV manuals or fill in the blank work sheets.

12. Rewritten Essays. The essays do not need to be edited, but if they are you need to write REGRADE at the top of the essay and include behind it the old one I graded.

13. Writing Conventions  Purpose: Demonstrate your knowledge of grammar and writing conventions.  Pick two essays from writing category a Tell me which two you chose in your table of contents.
