4  Battlemind Mindset that military members need to adopt in order to succeed in strategic military taskings Being aware of Battlemind can help those supporting veterans be more patient and understanding Provide opportunities for service members to talk about their experiences, but do not pressure them  Levels of Acculturative Stress Stress – mild response to stimulus overload Irritations – hot button Fatigue – short response to stimulus overload Shock – accustomed patterns v. new cultural environment.

6  Schlossberg identified four major sets of factors, known as the 4 S’s that influence a person’s ability to cope with a transition: Situation Self Support Strategies  Social Cognitive Career Theory focuses on factors that influence an individual’s career choice: Self-Efficacy Beliefs Outcomes Expectations Personal Goals
