1
Electromagnetic Spectrum
2
-is the range of all possible frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. The "electromagnetic spectrum" of an object is the characteristic distribution of electromagnetic radiation emitted or absorbed by that particular object.
3
Types of Waves Radio Infrared Visible light UV X rays Gamma rays
4
Radio Waves -type of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum longer than infrared light How it is used : it is used in radio communication, broadcasting, radar, navigation systems, computer networks, and satellite communications
5
Infrared -electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength longer than that of visible light
6
Ultraviolet -electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light, but longer than X- rays
7
X rays They are shorter in wavelength than UV rays and longer than gamma rays.
8
Gamma Rays -is electromagnetic radiation of high frequency (very short wavelength).
