How did the Versailles Treaty Help Start WWII? By: Seth Price, Sylas Treadway and Ricky Blake Mr. Turners S.S Class 6/12/14

First Cause: Versailles Treaty After WW1 the Allies wrote the Treaty of Versailles saying that Germany had to pay billions in reparations. This made Germany angry because they couldn't pay what they owed. They were the one that started the war so they were taking all the blame which they should be doing plus they were the losers. There were almost 20 million that had died in the war and it was all the Germans fault. While the war was going on the Germans thought that they were winning but what they don’t know was that they were getting really beat. Second Cause: Militarism In the Versailles Treaty it stated that Germans couldn’t exceed an amount of 100,000 troops. When Hitler came to power he stopped payments and immediately started rebuilding Germany’s military. They also had asked too much of Germany and they wanted to get revenge. Like France they also wanted revenge because most of the fighting (that the Germans had caused) was in France. They were the ones who asked to much out of Germans because of the damage done. Third Cause: Bad Economy After WWI Germany had to pay Billions in Reparations causing a massive amount of inflation by making more money causing Germany’s money to become totally worthless. When the Treaty of Versailles came out and the Germans were so worried about the reparations that they were not thinking about the future because making more money just causes more and more inflation which only causes the economy to go down After WWI Germany had to pay Billions in Reparations causing a massive amount of inflation by making more money causing Germany’s money to become totally worthless.
