Wood Carvings Wood comes from the copalillo tree Carved by hand by the men. Meticulously hand painted with original patterns by the women.

Bold Colors The idea behind their color choices is that they will never be able to paint their figures as beautiful as they appear in nature so they attempt to compensate by using fantastically rich colors.

Clay Terms Score-make scratches in the surface of clay to help hold it together. Slip- wet the surface of clay, using it like glue. Coil- This is the technique of building ceramic forms by rolling out coils, or ropes, of clay and joining them together with the fingers or a tool.
