CO 2 gas levels in the atmosphere are at 388ppm, 37% higher than anytime in the last 400,000years CO 2 is a greenhouse gas which traps more heat in our atmosphere causing climate changes worldwide Cars emit 20lbs of CO 2 per gallon of gas burned along with other noxious gases that lead to smog and lung problems 1800 lbs of excess CO 2 saved from our atmosphere every 100 PHS students and staff that bike one day

Every 100 EcoRyders saves: 88 gallons of gasoline from being burned 1800 pounds of CO 2, a greenhouse gas $150 in fuel costs We hope to get an average of 300 EcoRyders per day This would prevent 27000 pounds of CO2 emissions in just one week and save on $2,250 in fuel costs in just one week!! Small Changes make a BIG impact. Your transportation choices can have a positive effect on global warming and air pollution issues. Just by changing your own habits a few times a week to use more sustainable forms of transportation you can help saves lives and save money. Assumptions: average roundtrip distance per day to school is 15 miles with average gas mileage of 17miles/gal and $1.70/gal gasoline. Also 20lbs of CO 2 gas produced per gallon of gasoline burned
