A Guide to better Communications among Councils within a District

Training should not be a one day affair in June. Ongoing training assures a better understanding of the responsibilities we have. This is true from the top down to the Council level Members will then grasp the full meaning of meaningful programs, team work and communication.

Bring together executive members of your Councils on a regular basis for mentoring. In a relaxed atmosphere, you discuss items of common interest. You share ideas with others from a neighbouring Council. This provides a learning environment through friendly exchanges. Debating and Discussing will bring members closer together. This would enhance communication and team work among participants.
4
Set aside an evening, time and location for a meeting (ex: someone’s family room) Have a short Power Point Presentation to introduce topic previously agreed to. (ex:Admissions’ Committee) Debate &/or Discuss the chosen topic (refreshments allowed) Snacks served (Discussion continues) Next meeting is set as well as topic to be discussed Fun was had by all

Great follow-up to Diocesan Training New friendships are developed Team work is started amongst Councils Planning Projects & Events can turn into District efforts. Members will look forward to future get togethers. This becomes a great teaching tool without the formality of formal meetings. Try it. You may be pleasantly surprised at the outcome.
