Our Objectives Sharing Best Practices in Managing Public Sector Resources FMI Alberta Chapter To provide opportunities to share best practices in the management of public resources To provide opportunities for professional and personal development To provide the above at the lowest possible cost To have a board representative of our membership (presently 80% federal and 20% private sector)

Were we successful in 2006/07? Sharing Best Practices in Managing Public Sector Resources FMI Alberta Chapter 6 events with a total of 350 participants The 2 largest events were the second annual Professional Development Day and the Covey Canada presentation on the 8 th Habit of Highly Effective People We covered federal issues such as the Federal Accountability Act, provincial successes in the area of performance management and municipal planning in a this present day economy All events provided networking opportunities The season ended with a surplus of $392 (24,117 less 23,725)

What’s Ahead for 2007/08? Sharing Best Practices in Managing Public Sector Resources FMI Alberta Chapter Planning on 6 events The third annual Professional Development Day on October 25, 2007 –Our Keynote: Anita Caputo from the BIG PICTURE Institute –One stream includes presentations by our Partners: ICAA, CMA-Alberta, CGA-Alberta, and the IIA –The second stream focuses on the public sector relationship with not-for-profits Improving funding arrangements and relationships with not-for-profits (Marilyn Struthers of the Trillium Foundation) Understanding not-for-profit board liability (Gordon Gunn, KPMG) Treasury Board’s Transfer Payment Policy and new Service Policy
