Try out one project make sure you are using real-world examples and hands-on learning to teach concepts.

What can we do to ensure STEM implementation? Utilize all available technology students have BYOT/BYOD plan - each school may have different plans Get your Admin on board Work with fellow teachers – you don’t have to do it yourself Don’t re-invent the wheel!

What the students do well Texting Listen to music on digital devices Share content/photos/video Are not afraid to try new technology Working together and helping each other Socialize and use social networks Push boundaries

Work with other teachers Do an interdisciplinary unit – Medieval Times Catapult or trebuchet – Language Arts – write about medieval buildings and times and how they were breached during a siege – Social Studies – research plans for an authentic replica of the time – what it was used for – Science – build and test device – write lab report – Math – measure, calculate – how accurate can you be with the right calculations?

Take a virtual field trip with your students!

Try a Maker space Implement a maker space in your classroom for students to use when they complete other work, between transitions, etc. Invite parents or community members in for a maker night
