What is science? Science is a body of knowledge based on the study of the natural world. The basis for science is what we call inquiry or the development of explanations.

Think, Pair, Share Take 30 seconds to think yourself about what a theory is and what a law is. Speak to your partner for 30 seconds and exchange ideas. Be prepared to share

Theory Vs. Law Theory- explanation of natural phenomenon supported by many observations and experiments over time. Ex. Cell Theory, Theory of Evolution Law- describes relationships under certain conditions in nature. Ex. Law of conservation of matter.

What is pseudoscience? Is it real science? Pseudoscience- area of study that try to imitate science, often driven by cultural or commercial goals. Ex. Astrology, horoscopes, psychic readings, tarot cards
