Overall Mediatorship of Jesus 1 Tim. 2:5-6 Based on the “everlasting covenant” (Heb. 13:20). Before the world began, in eternity, the three Members of the Trinity covenanted that the “eternal purpose of God the Father was purposed in (en, locative and instrumental, means in and through) Christ Jesus,” God the Son (Eph. 3:1- 11; 2 Tim. 1:8-10; Rev. 13:8) “through the eternal Spirit” (Heb. 9:14). The eternal purpose can be realized only “in and through” the mediatorship of Jesus Christ (Eph. 3:11) because “Christ is the power (omnipotence) of God and the wisdom (omniscience) of God” (1 Cor. 1:24). Without Jesus Christ, there would be no power and wisdom of God and the very concept of God would be negated. Based on the “everlasting covenant” (Heb. 13:20). Overall Mediatorship of Jesus 1 Tim. 2:5-6 Mediatorship necessitates two sides to be mediated on: 1.Godkind – a.There are three eternally co-equal, co-existing, eternally distinct, individually unique and absolutely non-interchangeable but infinitely perfect PERSONS of the Godkind(Gen.1:26; 3:22; 11:5-7; 18:1-3; Ps.110:1 [Matt.22:41-45]; Matt.3:16-17; Jn.14:26; 15:26; Isa.48:12-16; Matt.28:19; Acts 2:33; Jn.1:18; 3:34-35; 10:30; 16:32; 17:20-26; Matt.10:32-33; Rev.1:1,10; 3:5,21), in the infinitely perfect kinship relationship of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit in one Godhood; b.They are one or united in purpose (co-purposer) (Gen. 1:26; 11:7; Jn. 14:26; 15:26; 2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 4:3; 1 Jn. 5:7); c.But of the three Persons of the Godkind, only God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ is the voluntary executor, accomplisher and fulfiller of the eternal purpose of the Godhead (Eph. 3:11; 2 Tim. 1:8-10); d.Mediator of the Father (Jn.1:18; Matt.11:27; Jn.5:18-19; 14:9-11) and of the Holy Spirit (Jn.3:34; 14:26; 15:26; Matt. 3:11; Mk 1:8; Lk 3:16; Jn. 1:33; Acts 2:33) to the createdkind(s). Mediatorship necessitates two sides to be mediated on: 2.Createdkind. Made up of: a.Original creation: Heavens (1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd ) and earth (Gen. 1; 2 Cor. 12:1-4) or the world (Jn. 1:10) or all things (Jn. 1:3) made up of physico-chemical elementalkind, plantkind, animalkind, humankind and angelkind; b.Hell (Hades, NT or sheol, OT)and lake of fire (gehenna)-prepared destination in endless torment for satan, fallen angels and humankind (Matt. 25:41) who did not commit their all to JESUS CHRIST, the Almighty Lord God the Son Incarnate Perfect Man and All in all; c.(After the original creation shall have melted [2Pet. 3:1-10] and passed away [Matt. 24:35]) New Heavens and New Earth and all created kinds in them who are redeemed, saved, sanctified, immortalized and glorified by their once and for all, faithful, obedient and loving commitment of their all to JESUS CHRIST, the Almighty Lord God the Son Incarnate Perfect Man and All in all. The Overall Mediatorship of the Lord Jesus Christ: 1)The Only Mediator-tangi at wala nang iba. There is only one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus who gave Himself as a ransom for all…(1 Tim. 2:5-6) God sending His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, was made sin for us, condemned sin in the flesh, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (Rom. 8:3; 2 Cor. 5:21). And having made peace by the blood of His cross, He reconciled all things and everyone to Himself, things on earth or things in heaven (Col. 1:20). 2)Eternally Covenanted –walang hanggan (Eph. 3:11; Heb. 7:24-25; Ps.110:1-6) 3)Irrevocable/Permanent – hindi mai-aalis, hindi mapapalitan (Ps. 110:1-6; Jas. 1:17) 4)Voluntary Assumed Function-kusang loob (Heb. 10:5-7; Phil. 2:6-11) 5)Absolutely Indispensable-hindi maiiwasan Jesus is the Mediator of createdkinds to God the Father (Jn. 14:6 …no one [oudeis, universal negative, none, nothing {including all prayers and devotions}; not anthropos, man] comes to the Father but by Me) and He is the Mediator to God the Holy Spirit (Matt.3:11-17-Holy Ghost baptizer). Impossibilities: Bypassing, departing from, deviating from the Mediatorship of Jesus are not only impossibilities but are against the words of Jesus and that is “missing the mark” or sin; that would be preempting or usurping the mediatorial function of the Lord Jesus unto yourself. Jesus is the Only Rightful Over All Eternal Channel-Way-Mediator of all of everyone that is of man towards God and God towards man. Therefore, ALL OF EVERYONE must be directly, exclusively and permanently addressed, submitted, committed, subjected, conformed and devoted to Christ Jesus Himself. Proof (patunay) of Jesus’ Over-all, Eternal, Indispensable, Irreplaceable, Irrevocable Mediatorship are His “once and for all,” perfect, complete and final works (mga gawain na hindi na uulitin, mananatili at iiral hanggang sa kawalang- hanggan) of the Lord Jesus Christ : 1.Creation of all things-pagkakalalang ng lahat ng bagay ( Gen. 1:1, 26-27, 31; Jn. 1:3, 10; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:10-12). Heb. 4:3-4. The Lord Jesus finished His work of creation after 6 days and on 7 th day, He entered His rest or has ceased work of creation. That is not 24 hour day because from that 7 th day to present, the Lord has ceased His work of creation once and for all, until now. 2.Incarnation-pagkakatawang-tao (Jn. 1:1, 14, 29; Rom. 9:5; Phil. 2:6-11; Heb. 10:5-7; ). Once and for all union of two essences-Godhood and manhood to represent and embody Godkind and mankind, simultaneously. In His incarnation, Jesus Christ’s Godhood was not diminished nor reduced for the “fulness of the Godhead (theotes, not theiotes) dwells in Him bodily.” (Col. 2:9) His Godhood and manhood are once and for all united. (Lk. 24:36-43; Jn. 20:27-28; Rev. 22:1-4) 3.Atonement-pantubos sa ipagkakasundo. The once and for all incarnation of God the Son is not only to be able to represent mankind but also to be the rightful all-embodying covering /offering for man’s sin to reconcile mankind to the Godkind through the once and for all vicarious/ substitutionary blood-shedding offering of the human body of Jesus unto death. (2 Cor. 5:14-15; 1 Tim. 2:5-6; Heb. 10:1-7) 4.Resurrection-pagkabuhay na maguli. Jesus’ once and for all resurrection (Jn. 11:25; 1 Cor. 15:21- 22) gloriously, completely and finally overcame-abolished death, mortality and corruption. (1 Cor. 15:53-57) Jesus assured salvation and eternal life to everyone who appropriate Christ Jesus Himself as his/her entire SALVATION (Matt.1:21,23; Acts 4:12; I Thess.5:9; II Tim.2:10), WISDOM, RIGHTEOUSNESS, SANCTIFICATION, REDEMPTION (I Cor.1:30), and ETERNAL LIFE (I Jn.5:20,9-13; 1:1-2; Rom.6:23; Jn.3:16; 11:25) and EVERLASTING GLORY (II Tim.2:10).
