10 Andrew Jackson b. March 15, 1767 in North Carolina – June 8, 1845 in Tennessee In Office: 1829 - 1837 Jackson’s troops from the War of 1812 nicknamed him “Old Hickory” because of his determination and his willingness to suffer along side of his men
