Socialization on the Internet Additionally, the virtual playground is creating some serious socialization issues. i-SAFE Inc. discovered through student surveys that: Students feel safer on the Internet and freer to do what they want in Cyberspace than they do in the real world. The solitary nature of Internet interaction poses important concerns: Students like to surf alone because they associate Internet anonymity with freedom. Many students have computers located in their bedrooms where they can be alone. Students find it easier to talk to people online than in person and see nothing wrong with chatting with strangers on the Internet.
