3. YOUNG FIREFIGHTERS NOW RECRUITING NEW MEMBERS Are you considering a career in the emergency services? Perhaps you're just looking for a challenge or something different to do in your spare time? Young Firefighters could be for you. The scheme, which is run by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, gives young people aged 15-18 the chance to try firefighting activities such as search and rescue and first aid. Young Firefighters also get the chance to go on camping and outward bound trips each year. The local Young Firefighters unit operates from Dumbarton Fire Station, and members meet there each Thursday evening from 7-9pm.
